Police say a 17-year-old shot and killed an 18-year-old who had just received his diploma. He was arrested Friday morning in the Dallas area and will be extradited to Solano County to face charges.

The 18-year-old was identified as Jamario Baker, who died shielding his 11-year-old sister, who was also hurt. Two other people were injured in the shooting.

Fairfield police say witnesses came forward and alerted them that the suspect had fled to Texas.

"There were many witnesses that were present, there were over a 1,000 witnesses that day. Many people did provide information that ultimately helped solve this case," Captain Nicholas McDowell said.
